After gaining an honours degree in law at Bristol University John qualified as a solicitor whilst working for a legal practice in Manchester.
John joined Thomas Howell Selfe, Chartered Loss Adjusters in 1981 in their City of London office specialising in legal liability, particularly professional indemnity claims. In 1986 he transferred to Edinburgh to assume responsibility for the Group’s liability and technical claims in Scotland, then in 1990 moved to the Manchester office of the Group to become Northern Regional Coordinator for the Casualty & Construction Division. In 1995 John took up the role heading the National Casualty Unit of Ashworth Mairs Group, Chartered Loss Adjusters at their head office in Merseyside.
In 2001 John established Howell Wild Chartered Loss Adjusters and continues to handle a range of liability claims.
John lives in Cheshire and is married with a grown daughter and son.
